Case Study - Architectural Fountain
| When Landry's Restaurants, Inc. built their new office building they wanted more than just your average retention pond. Nestled between Houston's Rolls Royce and Bentley dealership is this architectural beauty. Implementing the sound strategy of seperating functions with multiple pumps, each operation is segregated so that if one aspect shuts down the different features keep working. The structural shell design was modified from individual pools and redesigned into one monolithic shell so that soil expansion and contraction do not come into play virtually eliminating any possibility of a leak. The overflow drain was designed to integrate into the side of the pool removing an unsightly drain box located in the middle of the pool. This monument serves to handle the worst of the storm water that gets dumped into it with few knowing it's just a retention pond.

Why should you or your client

Hydraulics is not a guessing game. You tell us the amount of water you want, where you want it and we’ll calculate the hydraulics and specify the most appropriate components and equipment. Unfortunately, it is extremely difficult, time consuming, and expensive to try and repair a poorly engineered water feature. Over splash can almost never be stopped and it’s very hard -- if not impossible -- to change pipe sizes when they’re embedded in expanses of concrete.
